![]() Jodie GordonLecturer for "Is the Old Testament Sexist? Were Women Valued?"
Jodie Gordon is a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Mostly recently, Jodie worked at Ma'yan: The Jewish Women's Project where she researched and worked with Jewish adolescent girls, and developed corollary professional development training for Jewish youth workers. Through her work at Ma'yan, Jodie co-authored a chapter on the subject of Jewish girls and feminism in the volume "New Jewish Feminism: Probing the Past, Forging the Future". Jodie has spoken and conducted trainings on topics of gender, sexuality, and Jewish youth work throughout the country. Jodie has worked for a wide range of communal institutions including The JCC in Manhattan, Hillel at the University of Wisconsin, and URJ Eisner Camp. Currently, Jodie is the Reform Rabbinic Fellow at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life at NYU where she serves Reform Jews on campus. Jodie graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Sociology and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, and is currently a Tisch Rabbinic Fellow at HUC-JIR. Jodie has presented to Hillel as part of the Neshamot women's leadership program. |
