GET INVOLVED
Encouraging the Every
Are you someone who wants to get involved?
Our programs are as diverse as our students, creating pathways for everyone to get involved. We encourage students to bring their big ideas forward to make them into great programs.
RITUALS
Every year, students across HOW campuses gather for Shabbat and Jewish holidays. Share a meal in your campus sukkah, join us for Hanukkah and Purim parties, or engage in one of the many, creative Shabbat experiences like yoga Shabbat, Avi Schaeffer, z"l, Shabbat, Pink Shabbat, Gamers Shabbat, Nerd Shabbat, interfaith gatherings and more!
TZEDEK (JUSTICE)
From park clean-ups, to Midnight Run (food, clothing, supplies for home insecure persons), to advocacy and voter registration, HOW strives to build a sense of tikkun olam - repairing the world - in every student.
LEARNING
HOW offers opportunities for every learning style. From on-campus text and values study to dozens of community events throughout Westchester, there is a place for every mind and every Jewish interest.

HOW also offers a summer fellowship in partnership with Camp 12 Trails, Baruch College and UJA Federation of NY. A select cohort of extraordinary students, trained as Jewish camp counselors, receive housing, paid employment and a summer to remember!
ISRAEL
Hillels of Westchester strives to foster deep connections for all students in America to Judaism through the land, State and people of Israel. Using the distinctions of Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel), Medinat Yisrael (the State of Israel) and Am Yisrael (the people Israel), campus programs unique specific to each community served.

HOW offers two Birthright trips every year (winter/summer, during semester breaks).
COMMUNITY BUILDING
HOW endeavors to connect students to one another and the global Jewish community. Our students can be found at major conferences like AIPAC and J-Street, and throughout the Westchester Jewish community at the many events at our synagogues and Jewish Community Centers.
